Can I use in my classroom?
Yes, the ready-made pdf teaching materials are offered under a free educational license and can be freely used in any classroom (public, private or commercial).
Note some platforms have policies that restrict public broadcast. It really depends on local laws. YouTube is probably a good option for the classroom, as the artist has given public permission for classroom broadcast.
The TikTok videos you will need to be abide by TikTok policies in your country. But TikTok is allowing the videos to be embedded on websites. It suggests a fairly open rather than restrictive policy.
Has the artist given permission?
Yes, Lingua Flux has given artist permission for teachers to broadcast the Lingua Flux songs in classrooms and also to create new learning activities based on the words of the songs. However, the song recordings and music videos are copyrighted © 2025 All rights reserved: The user cannot sell, copy, distribute or alter in anyway. Use official distribution channels only. Please also note distribution platforms have their own local usage rules.
The other artists, as found in TikTok videos, have not given permission for public broadcast. Usage will fall under TikTok policies,
Can I make my own activities?
Yes, for the Lingua Flux songs, there is one plain text song-words pdf for each song. This is under a license allowing schools and teachers to edit and make their own activities. For example, add a school logo, add first language instructions or delete select words to make a gap fill. Just remember to credit Lingua Flux as shown in the license.
Can I use Lingua Flux's song images?
Fair usage applies. Yes, under the terms of the license. These will be found in Lingua Flux media and educational packs. These materials can be used for educational purposes.
Why not just use more famous songs?
Three reasons: Focused memory triggers, optimal learning and legally safer.
Firstly, the concept is for students to play songs in the background, outside of the classroom, forming artificial immersive experiences. It is likely these songs will trigger the classroom learning memories, as that is where they will have first heard the song. A super famous song could have multiple competing memories.
Secondly, the Lingua Flux songs have pronunciation activities pre-inserted into the songs. By then adding vocabulary and grammar activities, this optimises compounded learning for your students.
Thirdly, famous songs reside, at best, in a legal grey zone regarding classroom usage broadcast rights. I cannot make or support such materials.
Focused memory triggers, optimal learning and legally safer.
Why Lingua Flux?
Lingua Flux believes that music triggers the listener's subconscious. Lingua Flux is not interested in being a pop-idol or grabbing the headlines. When you look Lingua Flux in the eye, you really do see yourself! This is perfect for a learning project. The idea is for the songs to trigger memories that help you learn for a lifetime, rather than fleeting pop fantasies.
